The Heart of Men

In God’s Kingdom, the condition of our hearts matter. Proverbs 4:23 reminds us: “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” What fills our hearts shapes our thoughts, words, and actions. Romans 12:2 tells us: “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

There’s a constant battle for our minds and souls. As believers, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us, guiding us to resist the enemy’s tricks. To safeguard our hearts and minds, Philippians 4:8 encourages us: “Whatever is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.”

So, what are we allowing to influence us daily? What are we watching, listening to, or reading? Consider your life as an account—what deposits are you making? Immerse yourself in Scripture, not just for knowledge but to encounter the living God who saves, protects, and provides.

This is a process, not a destination, the journey of guarding our hearts. It’s a journey of sacrifice and sanctification. It’s one where we can let go the things of the past and become the men we are meant to be today. We all have a past and we’ve all fallen short. But today is a new day and we can learn to live in God‘s economy using these simple principles. Together, let’s guard our hearts and minds, so we can experience peace and the fullness of God and his glory! We got this! Let’s go!!!
